Victoria Falls

One of the Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls really is a must-visit if you’re in Southern Africa. Pictures honestly can’t do the experience justice!

Victoria Falls are can be found on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, parts of the falls falling within each country. They’re only an hour away from Botswana making them a great addition to a Botswana safari.

Visit Victoria Falls from both the Zimbabwe and Zambia side for the full experience! The falls can easily be visited in one day but if you wish to throw in some additional activities like rafting or a helicopter tour, you could throw in an extra day here.

Quick Facts

Location: On the Zambezi River which flows on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. You can view the falls from both sides. It’s also an hour away from Kasane in Botswana so can easily be visited at the end of a Botswana safari.

Best Time to Visit: The falls are at their fullest around May and June. This is a great time to see lots of water gushing over them! However, if you wish to visit Devil’s Pool, visit around September when the falls are lower and the pool is open.

Top Tip: It can get pretty wet at times so bring a waterproof coat or poncho! It takes 2-3 hours to walk around the falls from each side so you’ll need to allow a full day here to really make the most of it.
