I never anticipated how much work it would take to find the right safari. I spent days looking for what we wanted, only to be left feeling more anxious than excited the deeper I got into the research. There were horror stories of scams and uncomfortable accommodations, which made me wary to trust a company with thousands of dollars.

Finally, I discovered Safaris by Ella through a quick YouTube search, and got quotes from her trusted safari recommendations within 1-2 days.

I ended up going with Meektrails at the Masaai Mara and it was better than we hoped. I spent a little extra time to find a different accommodation than what was suggested because the experience of the tent was what I wanted, without compromising comfort (highly recommend the deluxe suite at Mara Kimana Camp!)

The safari agent was super accommodating and patient with all of our changes to the itinerary and we got it to a place that we were happy with. Our guide/driver was an absolute gem of a human; so charismatic, positive, and knowledgable. If you ever book with Meektrails at the Masai Mara, request for Robinson!

So, so grateful that I found Safaris by Ella and will definitely be requesting quotes through her blog again when we embark on our next safari!

Thanks for your recommendations and help. My daughter and I were beyond thrilled with the 8 day safari – one of 3 companies you suggested.

The service beforehand (Esther); our guide/ driver (Anthony) was great – friendly, professional, safe, experienced; a comfortable vehicle. Saw loads of wonderful animals. We travelled in March, not crowded.

All accommodation was great and they catered to our food requests (gluten and dairy issues). Food was very good.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

After searching for a while I am glad that I could find the right one for my first trip in Africa. We choose Meektrails Safari. The trip is smooth and we saw all big five. Thank you again 🙂

I cannot write enough to say how instrumental Ella has been for booking my safari trip.

Booking through international (US/UK) tour operators was very very expensive based on the quotes I was receiving. And booking directly through any local tour operator felt too risky to send large deposit amounts.

Safaris by Ella was the PERFECT middle ground that allowed me to connect with local tour operators that I could trust and were clearly vetted to ensure a great experience.

My safari is coming up in a few months and I will update then.

However, so far, the tour company (Meektrails) has been super professional, friendly, and customized all our requested to our own liking.

Ella has also been available to answer questions and she has send us a super helpful “next steps” on what we need to do after booking our safari.

Thanks to Ella we had the most incredible 2-weeks Safari in Kenya & Tanzania! We were so overwhelmed with the high number of different Safari companies and luckily we found Ella through her YouTube Videos and got in touch with her via email.

Her recommendation for Meektrails (Kenya) and Serengeti Clarity (Tanzania) were just the best choices we could have possibly made.

Everything from the pickup in Nairobi to crossing the Namanga boarder to our new pickup in Arusha and just every small detail of the trip was well thought trough and exceeded our expectations!! We were looking to do a Kenya and Tanzania safari with family including older parents and our toddler from India and needed help with planning and recommendations for this. We had a fabulous experience, from beginning to end.

Pauline was very responsive to any questions I had. She was helpful when I was wiring the deposit for the safari. I definitely wanted to make sure that I had all the correct information before wiring. Pauline double-checked everything.

Also, during our safari, Pauline gave me a call to say that there were reports of food poisoning at one of our accommodations. Pauline proactively found other accommodations for us, which was an upgrade from our original accomodation. She definitely was thinking of the customer experience 1st.

Our guide John was fabulous. He is very knowledgable of the animals and where to find them. He took us to parts of Maasai Mara and Amboseli, which aren’t visited frequently by the safaris. He was laid back, which suits our style, and let us dictate our schedule. I have nothing but high praises for John.

We and my daughters loved our guide James for our 8 days safari. All the lodges and food was excellent. James was super helpful with our schedule.

We saw tons of animals and leopard in Mara and as well in Ngulia lodge in Tsavo West.
