Chobe Riverfront Boat Safari

In the very north of Botswana is the Chobe River. Running through Chobe National Park, this wide expanse of water is the lifeblood of the region.

The best way to enjoy this area is to take to the water in a motor boat, a welcome change from game drives, I’m sure.

There’s so much life to be seen from the river, including elephants, buffalos, hippos, Nile crocodiles and, if you’re lucky, even lions.

A Chobe river boat cruise is the ideal way to either start or end your Botswana safari as its so close to Kasane town.

Quick Facts

Location: Flowing right in front of Kasane town, boat cruises launch right from the town, making a Chobe boat cruise the perfect way to start or end your safari in Botswana.

Best Time to Visit: The dry season between June and October provides the best time to visit as wildlife is encouraged to come down to the river for a drink as other water sources are scarce.

Top Tip: Not all boats have canopies so I’d recommend wearing a sun hat and plenty of suncream. It can get hot on the water so bring lots of water too.
