Nairobi National Park Safari
Bordering Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi National Park an unlikely place to find four of the Big Five. And yet here you can come face to face with lions, white rhinos, cape buffalos and the occasional leopard.
Often overlooked due to its close proximity to the city, Nairobi National Park pleasantly surprised me and provided me with some incredible wildlife experiences. In my eyes it’s a very underrated national park.
Combine your visit to the park with a trip to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage which is adjacent to the park.
Nairobi National Park is the perfect way to spend a morning in the city before or after your safari through Kenya.
Quick Facts
Location: Located right next door to Nairobi city, Nairobi National Park is a great way to spend a stopover in the city.
Best Time to Visit: The dry season between June and October provides the best time to visit Nairobi National Park as the vegetation has died back, allowing great views of the wildlife.
Top Tip: I’d recommend combining your visit to the park with a trip to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust which is located within the park. A visit to the elephant orphanage also includes entrance into the park so you may as well make the best of it!
