Botswana
Botswana is perhaps the most exclusive safari destination in Africa, boasting the largest area of protected wilderness out all all key safari destinations, whilst at the same time having a relatively low volume of tourism. Botswana’s low impact, high value tourism model is what enables it to excel in this area.
Botswana has some of the most diverse landscapes on the continent, from the lush floodlands of the Okavango Delta in the north to the arid Kalahari Desert in the centre. These habitats house a vast array of life, including the highest concentration of African elephants in the world.
Best time to visit Botswana: The dry season between June and October has the best weather. Days are relatively cool and there is little to no rainfall. The first half of this period is also a great time of year to visit as you’re more likely to encounter African wild dogs who typically start denning in May.
